It's Giveaway Day! (Giveaway Closed)

Giveaway is now closed...I just realized when I re-designed the blog I lost our numbered comments, oops! I'll announce the winner as soon as I figure out how to put them back!

Did you guys think we forgot about giveaway day? I almost did! I told Bree I would handle it since she is totally swamped with Christmas orders and I kept putting it off. Then I remembered late yesterday afternoon that I needed to put something together and instead of being a good girl and getting it done I chose to play Xbox with my husband, oops!

I sent Bree an email first thing this morning and said I still don't know what to do for the giveaway! We brainstormed a bit and I put together something that I hope you all like!

I broke into my beloved Castle Peeps stash that I won from Lee during the Supernova Quilt Along giveaway for this one. It was so hard cutting this fabric up but I sure do love the final results!

So up for grabs today is a Castle Peeps notebook and a drawstring bag

Would you like to win these?

All you have to do is leave us a comment. No need to become a follower or like us on Facebook or anything. If this is your first time visiting, feel free to look around while you're here, you're more than welcome to stay! And if you'd like to check us out on Facebook we have a link right over there in the sidebar, come on over!

Anyway, leave us a comment and give us some gift ideas for kids. I need good stuff, stuff that they'll play with, stuff that won't fall apart within a week. I'm so tired of our money going to waste on crap each year. And if you can't think of anything for kids, how about the husbands? Men can be so hard to shop for! An awesome cookie recipe would also be a good comment to leave :)

Giveaway is open until this Friday, the 16th, at 8:00 pm EST. I'll announce the winner by Sunday night. Please make sure if you are a no-reply blogger that you leave an email address so I can notify you if you win. International entries are welcome.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck!

A great toy that will be played with for years is a ball that the child sits on and bounces. They make one that is large and I ordered one for my g-daughter. One of my other g-daughters had a smaller one when she was younger and she or one of her siblings played on it everyday. It lasted for quite a while. I think the dog was to blame for it's final demise.

For little kids, we're going with the standard but classic wooden blocks. The ones we got aren't painted so we don't have to worry about toxins or lead.

Hey Julie, yes - I would love to win (obviously, or I wouldn't be commenting, right?) and yes, I do have a suggestion for a man gift. I'm getting my husband a trash can. Really romantic, right? Well my suggestion is - do you have something that bugs you every time you look at it? Something that HE needs to do, but it's too fussy for him to do either properly or consistently? Something that bugs HIM every time he looks at it? Like a screen door handle that is busted and doesn't latch, or a trash can that rips the bag every time you pull it out, or a garage door opener that only works if you hold it "just right"? For his present I suggest you bite the bullet and replace it. Or fix it. Yes, it still works, it's just "fussy"? Replace it. He'll think of you EVERY time he uses it!

I just made my husband a candy corn plush.

My girls are getting a wooden train set for Christmas, I know those are durable.

oh my gosh! that notebook folder is just exquisite (the bag is too, but i especially love the folder). thanks for the chance to win.

i have two girls. honestly my advice is quality, not quantity. we like wooden toys by plan toys... oompatoys.com has a nice selection. it is pricier than plastic throaway junk, but it lasts well and is great quality and eco-friendly. we are also big fans of waldorf dolls here. check out spots corner on hyenacart for some neat gently used or new toys, in particular this is a good place to get waldorf dolls!

My nephews love the Fiddlesticks they got a few years ago. It's a tube full of wooden sticks of different lengths and rounds with holes in them. Sort of a building block set. They play with it every single time they are here 100+ days a year :) . Also my favorite cookie recipe is the Maple Pecan Pinwheel cookie (secret ingredient is orange zest) from The Complete Book of Cookies published by New Burlington Books, edited by Deborah Gray. Yum.

I say you can never go wrong with boardgames. When my little one is old enough I want to have a family boardgame night each week ^_^.

Lovely! I think Castle Peeps is great!

I think that books are a great present. Kids love stories, and they provide an opportunity for you to spend time reading with them! When I go home to my parents' over the holidays we still pull out the old favourites and read them to one another.

What a great giveaway! My Peeps are sitting on a shelf looking pretty while I decide what to make with them. :)

The niece & nephews are getting crayon/colored pencil roll-ups & some cheapo toys that I won't mind if they break on Christmas day. Thanks for the chance! :)

Love your items and would love to win, then share them. My kids are grownups but my 3 year old granddaughter is very into princesses and dress up right now. I made her a Rapunzel braid for Christmas. (google it for instructions). I'm hoping it is just what she wants.

Super giveaway. Thank you so much.

My favorite gift for my son was always an age-appropriate board game. Those meant so much to him because he knew we would sit down and play as a family. He was an only child so love Mom and Dad play time.

I keep trying to get my husband a GPS, but he won't let me. The kids are easy! I have three girls and they love books, board games, camping stuff. We got the older two those multi-tools that fold up really small. They think they are great. I think my kids are easy. Cookies: we always make the rum balls from the Martha Stewart Cookbook. They are yummy and it's always an event to make them. Merry Christmas!
